BreathAnchor

Accessibility Statement

BreathAnchor is committed to being accessible to everyone.

Our Commitment

We believe that breathing exercises should be available to all people, regardless of ability. We strive to ensure BreathAnchor meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

Accessibility Features

BreathAnchor includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard
  • Screen reader support: Content is structured with semantic HTML and ARIA labels where appropriate
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus states for all interactive elements
  • Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements
  • Responsive design: The interface adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
  • Reduced motion: Animations respect user preferences for reduced motion where possible
  • Text alternatives: Visual elements include appropriate text descriptions
  • No time limits: Users can take as long as they need; breathing exercises can be paused at any time

Conformance Status

BreathAnchor aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We regularly review and test our application to identify and address accessibility issues.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations:

  • The breathing animation is primarily visual. Screen reader users will receive text prompts for breathing phases (inhale, hold, exhale).
  • Some third-party content linked from this site may not meet the same accessibility standards.

Assistive Technologies

BreathAnchor has been tested with:

  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Screen magnification tools
  • High contrast mode
